KELVON MORRIS TRIBUTES TOBAGO PNM STALWART
Minority Leader Kelvon Morris has paid tribute to Cecile Beckles, a revered figure within the People’s National Movement (PNM) in Tobago, following her passing. In a statement, Morris described Beckles, affectionately known as “Mommy Beckles,” as a woman who dedicated her life and passion to both the PNM and her beloved community of Darrel SpringWhim.
Beckles was a deeply committed member of the party, holding numerous leadership positions throughout her career. These roles included Chairman of the Women’s League, Chairman of the Tobago West Constituency, and Constituency Representative to the General Council.
Morris highlighted her influence beyond her official titles, remembering her as a trusted guide and supporter. He noted that Beckles was widely respected for her “real and honest »counsel and her direct approach, which he stated was always rooted in a desire for things to be better. Morris concluded his tribute by extending condolences to her family, friends, and the wider PNM community, stating that her memory will continue to inspire.
