BRACE YOURSELF [6TH MAY 2026] – The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has ruled out another gun amnesty following the limited response to its January 2026 initiative aimed at encouraging the surrender of illegal firearms. While many viewed the exercise as unsuccessful, police officials say the campaign provided valuable lessons that will shape future crime-fighting strategies. Police Commissioner Verne Garde has indicated that the focus will now shift toward a more enforcement-driven approach to tackling illegal firearms and gun violence.
