Parliament Session To End On May 22nd Ahead Of June Sitting

President Christine Kangaloo has proclaimed that the current session of Parliament will be brought to an end from Friday, May 22nd, at midnight.
This is in keeping with subsection 1 of Section 68 of the Constitution, with the advice of the Prime Minister.
Legal Notice Number 339, dated May 19th, 2026, noted that the second session of the 13th Parliament will commence at the Red House on Friday, June 5th, 2026, at 1:30pm.
According to the proclamation, members may attend virtual sittings if necessary once approval is granted by the Speaker of the House of Representatives or the President of the Senate under established parliamentary guidelines.
