Representing Dominica at the CDB’s Youth Fire Forum, Ferdison Valmond highlighted on Monday,
the country’s successful integration of climate education from kindergarten through tertiary levels, made possible through strong partnerships with non-governmental organizations. In a nation frequently impacted by hurricanes, he emphasized the importance of equipping young people with the knowledge and skills needed to address climate change and become responsible environmental stewards.
Valmond also proudly wore indigenous regalia representing one of Dominica’s last surviving indigenous communities, underscoring the importance of preserving his cultural identity while participating in this CDB youth platform.
