Stakeholders from various ministries and response agencies engaged in a two-day Disaster Management Stakeholder Summit hosted by the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government.
Through simulation exercises, they tested readiness in emergency scenarios, developing stronger coordination and preparedness.
According to some of the decision-makers, the summit allowed for a better perspective on what is required if a disaster occurs. For others, it was an opportunity to revisit plans already in place to ensure they are effective moving forward.
Through inter-agency coordination, gaps in communication were identified, and participants developed the next steps to be incorporated into real-world decision-making.
