Mid Year Budget Review To Be Presented On June 15th
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC has announced that the Mid-Year Budget review will be presented on June 15th.
Speaking in the House of Representatives at the opening of the second session of the 13th Parliament, she noted that this will be followed by a series of other presentations during the week.
« Next week, we will return to this House to present the Mid-Year Review and Supplementary Appropriation. So this House will return, Mr. Speaker, subject to the Standing Orders, we will return next Wednesday, when the Finance Bill 2026 will be debated. That Bill is to give effect to measures that were announced in the 2025-26 budget. »
The Prime Minister outlined the schedule for the upcoming Parliamentary proceedings in the lead-up to the mid-year review.
« Thereafter, we will come for the Standing Finance Committee, which will be convened on Friday, so Wednesday first for the Finance Bill, and that will be convened at about 10.30am. Then on Friday for the Standing Finance Committee at 1:30pm, and thereafter in the following week for debate on the Supplementary Appropriation Bill Variation and Supplementation. »
