The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) is sounding a stern alarm, urging residents to immediately cease all forms of indiscriminate burning as the island experiences a dangerous surge in bush and rubbish fires fueled by current dry weather conditions. Fire crews across the island have been forced to respond to 53 separate fire incidents within the first three weeks of June alone.
