Man And Girlfriend Arrested After Gun Discovered In Gaming Console
Police in Central Trinidad have arrested a man and his girlfriend after finding a gun hidden inside a gaming console.
On Wednesday, officers from the Central Division Gang Unit, acting on intelligence, conducted enquiries that led to the identification of a house at Taska Avenue, Cashew Gardens, Longdenville.
The officers, acting under Section 12 of the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026, conducted a search, during which they noticed a black PlayStation gaming console that felt unusually heavy when lifted.
Officers discovered a black and chrome Smith & Wesson pistol fitted with a magazine containing nine rounds of .40 calibre ammunition hidden inside.
As a result, a 48-year-old man who was at the house and his Latin American girlfriend were arrested and remain in police custody as investigations continue.
