TOMORROW’S NURSES [27TH AUGUST 2025] – The government is introducing targeted interventions to address Saint Lucia’s ongoing shortage of qualified nurses. Speaking at Monday’s pre-cabinet press briefing, Minister for Education Hon. Shawn Edward announced a suite of enhanced financial incentives aimed at attracting and retaining young professionals in the nursing sector. This initiative is part of a broader national strategy to meet the growing demand for healthcare personnel across the island and to curb the persistent outflow of nurses seeking better opportunities abroad, particularly as the country’s healthcare infrastructure continues to expand.
