The government is saying murders are down by 118 in the first half of 2026.
A post on the Prime Minister’s Facebook page depicts a table showing the murder figures in Trinidad and Tobago have fallen significantly in 2026.
It compares murder figures for the period January 1st to July 20th, 2026, with the same period in 2024.
The data show 213 murders were recorded in 2026, compared to 331 in 2024, a reduction of 118 murders.
Government officials say the figures demonstrate that crime-fighting efforts by the UNC administration and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) under the current State of Emergency (SOE) are delivering positive results and making communities safer nationwide.
