Mark Cartwright, a fisherman in his early 50s, allegedly drowned this morning while diving for conch about five miles off New Providence. According to police, he experienced difficulty breathing after a dive. Another fisherman attempted to assist him but was unsuccessful. Passing boaters later helped bring him to shore, where police were contacted.

Margo Cartwright says her brother, Mark Cartwright, is the second of her brothers to come to Nassau from Eleuthera to fish and lose his life at sea.
