Christie: “We're in a Period of High Temperatures and High Demand on Our Systems”
An overloaded transformer causing that explosion in Palmdale earlier today, according to BPL Chief Operating Officer, Anthony Christie, who said that created outages affecting nearby businesses.
He said crews are working to restore power. Christie added that extreme temperatures and increased electricity demand are placing significant strain on the grid and urged customers and businesses to conserve energy to help ease the load.
