As Trinidad and Tobago celebrated sixty-four years of independence on Saturday, national security and declining crime figures took center stage during the official independence address. Speaking at the celebration the Prime Minister highlighted significant drops in violent crime and traffic fatalities nationwide, crediting the efforts of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and supporting protective services.
