Drunk In Class | TVJ Smile Jamaica
Jamaica’s classrooms are facing an unsettling challenge, with one in every 10 high school students reporting that they have gone to school drunk, while a similar proportion say they have attended school under the influence of marijuana or other drugs.
Uki Atkinson, Acting Principal Director of the Prevention, Public Education & Treatment Branch at the NCDA, and Paulette Spencer-Smith, Executive Director at the NCDA, discussed these findings, the factors contributing to substance use among students and possible solutions to address the issue.
