CEO: “I Want To Sincerely Apologize For All The Interruptions”
Bahamas Grid Company CEO Dario McKenzie is apologizing to the public for the power interruptions experienced over the past several weeks, saying the company is focused on repairing existing faults and improving grid reliability.
McKenzie says overseas splicers are currently repairing underground cable faults, while scanning of the transmission and distribution system is expected to begin within the next few weeks to identify potential problems before they occur.
BGC also plans to bring in additional line workers over the next eight to 10 weeks to accelerate repair and maintenance efforts.
