Ministry Hands Over $36,400 To Support Menstrual Health Initiative For Vulnerable Women And Girls
The Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services is strengthening support for vulnerable women and girls through a one-time Grant of $36,400 to the ‘A Touch of Joy Foundation’ for its « Fight for Her Dignity initiative ».
Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, Vandana Mohit, presented the Grant to Foundation Vice President, Mala Jadoonanan, on Saturday.
The 12-month programme is expected to directly benefit approximately 500 women and girls by providing menstrual hygiene and personal care kits, menstrual health education, women’s health and wellness sessions, public awareness campaigns, advocacy efforts, and referrals to health and social support services.
