The documentary takes us to Red Hills, Clarendon, where 78-year-old Sirill “Thomas” Barnett has spent years living in a deteriorating structure that was once a two-bedroom house. His story highlights the extreme conditions some Jamaicans endure while waiting for assistance.
The programme also looks at the work of Food For The Poor, the challenges of finding suitable land for housing, previous government housing initiatives, and the difficulties surrounding high-density developments.
As Jamaica looks toward the future of urban housing, questions remain about affordability, displacement, land ownership and how the country can provide safe homes for those who need them most.
