Cooper: "We Want to Ensure That the Schools Are Safe and a Healthy Environment"
As cases of impetigo continue to rise, Education Minister Chester Cooper says his ministry is focused on containing the outbreak, noting that it is highly contagious, but not life threatening. Cooper says the Ministry of Health advises that impetigo generally occurs around this time of year. He says the goal is to contain the spread while keeping disruption to instructional time at a minimum, with deep cleaning and temporary school closures used when necessary.
