Education Minister: “I’m Not Aware of Any Union Action”
Education Minister, Chester Cooper, says he is not aware of any industrial action taken by the Bahamas Union of Teachers amid ongoing power outages at multiple schools, including Simpson Pen School for Boys, Willie Mae Pratt Center for Girls and Eva Hilton Primary School.
The Ministry of Education announced that Eva Hilton Primary School students will be dismissed today due to power outages affecting the school’s plumbing.
Despite ongoing power outages at various schools on New Providence, Cooper says once again that when schools are faced with power outages, their first inclination is not to close school.
