Classes were dismissed early at Freeport Primary School on Thursday due to an infestation of bats.

Bahamas Educators, Counsellors and Allied Workers Union (BECAWU) Area Vice President Michelle Outten voiced concern for the health and safety of the union members and called for deep cleaning of the school once the bats were disposed of.

Director of Education Dominique McCartney-Russell told ZNS News the ministry has engaged a pest control company, and the work is scheduled to start on Friday, October 16th.
