Moxey: Our Members Are Standing By, a Bit Anxiety
2 hours ago
Bus drivers are looking to the government for answers on Tuesday as they push for a $2 adult bus fare amid soaring diesel prices nearing $9 a gallon.
Bahamas Unified Bus Drivers Union President Harrison Moxey told reporters this afternoon that members are anxiously waiting and hoping for relief as rising fuel costs continue to put pressure on their operations.
On Thursday, Transport Minister Leon Lundy announced plans for further talks with bus operators as the government considers their concerns.
According to Moxey, drivers are now awaiting Tuesday’s discussions for clarity on the government’s response to their fare increase request.
