The Jamaica Civil Service Association has called off Monday’s planned protest over the Government Employees Transportation System, or GETS.
The decision follows an agreement with the Ministry of Finance to extend the service for another six months while negotiations continue.
The JUTC will maintain operations under the existing arrangements, providing public sector workers with transportation to and from work.
The extension was confirmed in a letter from the Finance Minister to the association, dated Saturday, October 31.
