Banking Reforms Strengthen Consumer Protection and Access to Basic Accounts
Opening a bank account should become easier for low-income and vulnerable Saint Lucians under amendments to the Banking Act. The reforms provide for a basic account with no opening fee or minimum balance, alongside stronger consumer protections and a formal process for resolving complaints against financial institutions.
