FATAL HIGHWAY ACCIDENT
A tragic accident claimed the life of an adult male late last night on the Claude Noel Highway, near the vicinity of the Light and Life High School.
According to initial police reports, the man was struck by a motor vehicle while attempting to cross or walk along the roadway. The impact caused him to be pinned beneath the vehicle, which eventually came to a stop on top of his body. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene, but despite their best efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is reportedly assisting police with their inquiries. Traffic along the busy highway was temporarily diverted as investigators conducted on-site examinations, causing delays for motorists travelling in both directions. Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased, as efforts are being made to contact and notify his family. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash are ongoing.
