The Renters (Reform) Bill, which is set for its final stages in the House of Commons on Wednesday, includes a long-promised plan to end tenants being forced from their homes under Section 21 notices. But the government has indicated it will delay implementation of the ban until the courts are assessed to have the capacity to deal with new cases, prompting accusations that ministers have abandoned renters and conceded to “pro-landlord Conservative MPs”. A British surgeon who has just returned from Gaza has spoken to ITV News about the horrors he saw, the injured children he tried to save and moments 'he cannot take out his head’. Dr Junaid Sultan worked at the last fully functioning hospital in the region, which is overwhelmed as the numbers of those injured in the conflict continues to rise daily, now reportedly exceeding 77,000 - of which the majority are women and children. Belgian man whose body produces alcohol in rare condition cleared of drunk driving #itvnews

The chief fire officer (CFO) and assistant chief fire officer (ACFO) of Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service both sent messages suggesting they wanted to kill or harm female colleagues. In the WhatsApp messages - which have been leaked to ITV News - the senior officers also use the words "lazy cow", "bint" and "useless" to refer to women in the service. Several of the messages target Area Manager Jan Morris, who resigned from the service this year after reading what had been said about her. Rishi Sunak's Bill to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda has been condemned as a “breach of international law” by human rights groups. The bill passed late on Monday night after hours of back and forth between the House of Commons and the Lords, who tried to block the motion. Charity Freedom from Torture, alongside Amnesty International and Liberty, criticised the government for ignoring the findings of the Supreme Court, which ruled the policy was unlawful in November. The groups said the Bill poses “a significant threat to the rule of law” by undermining what protects people from an abuse of power by the state, and described Parliament as a “crime scene”. Mocking Brexit and Tory voters is "gross", says Jonathan Pie actor Tom Walker - and a whole generation of comedians might soon have to find other things to joke about. The comedian, whose career has grown with 14 years of Tory governments, admits much of his success has been down to Conservative chaos but accepts it's likely he'll soon have to turn on Keir Starmer. Jonathan Pie is a satirical news correspondent who found success for his "off-air" moments in which the reporter rants about politics apparently without realising the camera is still rolling. Pie's creator Walker, who is currently giving the Tories what could be his final kicking in a stage tour, spoke to ITV News about the future of UK politics, comedy and satire.
