A major poll for ITV has revealed two thirds of 18 to 25-year-olds have no trust in politics, and over half say politicians don't care about them. The poll, conducted by Savanta for ITV News and ITV’s Peston, revealed young people’s concerns and priorities, as we approach a general election this year. Israel’s military chief said it will respond after Iran launched an extensive drone and missile attack on Saturday despite world leaders urging them not to retaliate. Lt. Gen. Leaders of the G7 have urged de-escalation in the Middle East but said they “stand ready to take further measures now and in response to further destabilising initiatives” after Iran’s unprecedented attack on Israel. In a joint statement following an urgent meeting on Sunday, countries including the UK and US “unequivocally” condemned Tehran’s strikes and expressed “full solidarity” with Israel. Five of the six victims of the Sydney shopping centre stabbing have been named as the public and loved ones pay tribute in Australia. Hundreds of shoppers were evacuated on Saturday afternoon when 40-year-old Joel Cauchi - believed to be the sole suspect - was shot dead by a female police officer as she approached him from behind, before he turned and lunged at her. Six people died and 12 others were injured, including a nine-month-old baby, after a series of stabbings at the Westfield Bondi Junction mall shopping centre near Bondi Beach.
