The Detroit Lions traded up from the 29th overall pick with the Dallas Cowboys to move up to No. 24 and draft Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold. Our Jeanna Trotman caught up with Arnold on the red carpet earlier on Thursday. "Brian Branch, he was at my dinner. I already linked up with my dawg, Jamo, man, so, those are my guys. Bama, it's a brotherhood for life," he said.

There will be cold temps to start the day after a clear spot overnight had freeze warnings and frost advisories. Temps will get into the mid 60s by the afternoon today and there will be some clouds. They get even warmer this weekend into the upper 70s by Sunday.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell recruited some help to open the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit – the Detroit Lions and Detroit native Eminem. After being seen in commercials leading up to the draft, it opened on ESPN with jokes about Eminem songs with Calvin Johnson, Barry Sanders, Aiden Hutchinson and more. Goodell came out to major boos, which happens every year at the draft, and then Eminem came on stage. He was followed by Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Aiden Hutchinson, Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders. St. Brown also led the crowd in the now famous "Jared Goff" chant

The NFL Fan Experience is at Hart Plaza, a few blocks away from the draft theatre near Cadillac Square and Campus Martius Park.

NFL Alumni Health and Beyond Type 1 hosted a Huddle for Diabetes event at Emagine Royal Oak on the eve of the NFL Draft.

We also spoke with Jeremiah minutes after the St. Brown news broke. He calls it money well spent. "There are some guys where you kind of have to sign him, and it's not a great feeling. Then there's one like this. I'm sure everyone was elated to get this deal done."

"JJ is a winner." Joel Klatt loves McCarthy's maturation as a quarterback. He thinks Minnesota is the location for JJ, but also says Las Vegas would be a good landing spot. Klatt says the polarizing opinions on JJ is partially because of the non-QB reliant system Michigan ran.

In a mock draft done by Charles Davis, he has JJ McCarthy going No. 3 to the New England Patriots. "A Michigan man led them for a long time, a Michigan man may be running it back."

Daniel Jeremiah: "Thanks a lot, the Lions are always picking up in the top of the draft, we finally come here, now they're a Super Bowl contender." He commends the turnaround the Lions have made under Holmes + Campbell and what they should be focusing on this draft.

Joel Klatt says that Blake Corum is one of the most undervalued players in the entire draft. "His production is off the charts." He says he'd be remiss if he didn't add: Blake is in his top-four people/individuals that he has ever covered in college football.
