Fifth-grade student Naveah Strachan has received a wheelchair from the Bahamas Educators Managerial Union (BEMU), providing her with greater independence and mobility.
Born with osteogenesis imperfecta, a genetic condition that causes fragile bones, Naveah has been unable to walk since birth. Her mother, Anna Thompson, shared that she previously had to carry her daughter to and from school.
Thompson expressed her gratitude to BEMU for the donation, which will allow Naveah to move around more independently.
