CARICOM YOUTH ANTHOLOGY HIGHLIGHTS CALL FOR GREATER YOUTH VOICE IN POLICYMAKING
Young people across the Caribbean are demanding a greater say in the decisions that shape their future. On International Youth Day, August 12, their voices were amplified in Saint Lucia with the launch of the CARICOM Youth Anthology — a collection highlighting the perspectives of young people on some of the region’s most pressing issues.
The anthology was launched at the Hunter J. François Library, underscoring the growing importance of youth advocacy and participation in policy-making. While young people have made progress in getting their concerns heard at the highest levels, advocates say more must be done to ensure the region’s youth have the opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
