The Carnival Music Management Committee (CMMC) is turning up the excitement ahead of the 2026 calypso tent season with the launch of “Behind the Scenes” — a limited mini series offering a raw, intimate and uncut look at the people, passion and preparation powering Saint Lucia’s calypso movement.

The first episode of “Behind the Scenes” premieres on May 17, 2026, across all CMMC social media platforms and will also be aired on participating radio and television stations.

This exciting new mini series pulls the curtain back on the calypso experience, taking audiences beyond the stage lights and into the rehearsal rooms, late-night sessions, creative discussions and behind-the-mic moments that help shape the season.

In Episode 1, viewers will follow former Calypso Queen Minelle, Hyper, Yandi and Trish as they work alongside veteran producer and songwriter Carlton Roberts during one of their earliest rehearsals ahead of opening night.

“Behind the Scenes” gives audiences a fly-on-the-wall perspective into the inner workings of seasoned calypsonians, musicians, writers, producers and other key insiders as they prepare for another competitive and highly anticipated calypso tent season. It will also spotlight emerging performers eager to make their mark and earn their place in the calypso spotlight.

From the first note to the final performance, the series captures the discipline, humour, pressure, creativity and after-hours effort that audiences rarely get to see. It is an unvarnished look at the work behind the lyrics, the personalities behind the performances, and the dedication behind one of Saint Lucia’s most treasured cultural expressions.

CMMC invites calypso lovers, Carnival fans and the wider public to follow its official social media pages for exclusive content drops, episode releases, artist features and updates throughout the season.

As the countdown to opening night begins, “Behind the Scenes” promises to bring audiences closer to the music, the makers and the moments that define the road to the calypso stage.
