Health Minister, Dr. Michael Darville says he is not concerned that a cluster of COVID-19 cases in Grand Bahama will become a national issue, noting that most of those who tested positive were vaccinated and experienced minimal symptoms.
Speaking to reporters outside this morning’s Cabinet meeting, Darville said only one person was hospitalized and has since been discharged.
The Ministry of Health recently reported the 20 positive cases, following a church retreat on the island.
Darville is also urging Bahamians to practice proper respiratory etiquette, wear a mask, and stay home if they are experiencing symptoms of an upper respiratory illness.
