Health & Wellness Minister, Dr. Michael Darville, revealing today that new cases of impetigo have declined significantly, despite the Ministry receiving reports on Wednesday of four new cases of impetigo in New Providence and three in Grand Bahama.

Several schools have taken precautionary measures amid suspected cases. Samuel Guy Pinder Comprehensive School and Gambier Primary School were temporarily closed in early October, while E.P. Roberts Primary School and Sadie Curtis Primary School dismissed classes early last week.

Dr. Darville notes that although the figures are encouraging, it does not mean that transmission has stopped.
