Senior Medical Officer for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Mental Health, Dr. Shana Cyr-Philbert sits down with the team from the Education and Communications Unit to speak on the observance of World Hypertension Day on May 17th.

World Hypertension Day, is a time to raise public awareness about hypertension or high blood pressure, a condition which affects approximately 1.4 billion people worldwide and an estimated 40%, or two out of every 5, St Lucians aged 18 to 69 years.The aim of World Hypertension Day is to promote the prevention, early detection and control of hypertension.
