EMANCIPATION DAY: A CALL FOR FREEDOM FROM VIOLENCE AND RECKLESSNESS
Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire used the July 27 cabinet briefing to call for deeper reflection on Emancipation Day, urging St. Lucians to free themselves from modern-day ills.
Dr. Hilaire reminded reporters that in 2021, Prime Minister Pierre promised St. Lucia would never celebrate Emancipation the same way again.
He noted more focus is now placed on the occasion.
