STRICTLY BY CHOICE [23RD JUNE 2026] – Questions surrounding compensation for occupants of Crown lands have returned to the national spotlight following the relocation of beach vendor Marie Fallarie to make way for the Aisla Resort development. Addressing the issue at Monday’s Cabinet Press Briefing, Investment Minister Dr. Ernest Hilaire said there is no legal obligation for the government to compensate persons occupying state lands, noting that any such payments are made at the government’s discretion
