Health Minister Clarifies NHI’s Statistics on STI’s
Health Minister Dr. Michael Darville clarified recent comments a top National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) official made about Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s). On Thursday, NHIA Chief Executive Officer Christy Butler released statistics relating to NHI beneficiaries who got healthcare services related to HIV or other STI’s during 2025.
Today, the Health Minister clarified that the statistics do not confirm new STI cases. Dr. Darville added that updated figures will be released in the coming weeks by the Department of Public Health.
