While celebrating Labour Day in Grand Bahama, Foreign Affairs Minister and Fox Hill MP Fred Mitchell encouraged Bahamians to remember the people who fought for many of the workplace benefits enjoyed today. He noted that rights such as sick leave, holiday pay, overtime, and the 40-hour work week came through years of sacrifice and hard work. Mitchell said remembering that history is important as it helps shape the path forward.
