Methanol Takes To The Road In T&T
Trinidad and Tobago is putting locally produced methanol to the test as an alternative transportation fuel, with four 100% methanol-powered commercial trucks now operating on the country’s roads.
The pilot, launched by Proman and Dumore Enterprises, is examining the vehicles’ performance, operating costs, safety and potential to create a new domestic market for methanol.
Colin Greaves, Head of Corporate Communications at Proman Trinidad, and Alex Jodhan, Managing Director of Dumore Enterprises Limited, join Virmala to discuss the experience so far, including the trucks’ 17,000-plus kilometres on the road, the transition from diesel to methanol and what would be needed to expand the technology locally and potentially across the wider Caribbean.
