Minnis: I Ain’t No Damn Tief

Former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis is accusing the Davis administration of having a less-than-stellar track record when it comes to transparency. Dr. Minnis was reacting to the controversy surrounding the government’s handling and management of the National Investment Fund.

The controversy stems from the government’s financial reports showing the fund’s balance dropped from $265.3 million at the end of December 2025 to just $200,000 by the end of March. The Davis administration has said $310.9 million in fund proceeds has been used for public infrastructure and strategic national assets.

While defending his track record, Minnis told reporters today that when he was prime minister and the Progressive Liberal Party was in opposition, the PLP accused him of a lack of transparency. Minnis says five years later, they now find themselves in the same position.
