PM PIERRE CLARIFIES THIRD-COUNTRY NATIONALS ARE NOT CRIMINAL DEPORTEES
Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre MONDAY moved to draw a clear line between two categories of people being sent to Saint Lucia from the United States, insisting the newest arrivals under the Third-Country Nationals programme carry no criminal record.
He told Monday’s Pre-Cabinet briefing the six individuals due this week overstayed their U.S. visas — an administrative lapse, he stressed, not the kind of conviction that defines Saint Lucia’s long-standing deportee arrangement.
