Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has outlined the Government’s proposed Special Operations Bill 2026, aimed at tackling violent crime, gang activity and illegal weapons after the State of emergency Ends.
Speaking in the House of Representatives, she outlined proposed special operations, enhanced police powers, safeguards for citizens and oversight measures.
