Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Eli Zakour, says a comprehensive review by Caribbean Airlines’ Route Oversight Committee has found that several routes introduced during the 2023 Eastern Caribbean expansion were launched without sufficient commercial justification and have since generated sustained financial losses.

As a result, from June 1st, 2026, CAL will withdraw from Dominica and St. Kitts, discontinue the nonstop Guyana–Suriname service, and reduce frequencies to Martinique and Guadeloupe.

The Minister said that, as of April 2026, the affected routes recorded combined losses of more than US$18.8 million, or over TT$128 million. He added that affected passengers will be contacted directly regarding refunds, travel credits , or alternative arrangements.
