MIDNIGHT CRISIS [5TH JANUARY 2026] – The new year opened with shock and uncertainty across the Caribbean after a major U.S. military operation in Venezuela led to the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. Framed by Washington as part of a crackdown on “narcoterrorism,” the intervention has raised urgent questions about regional stability, trade, tourism, and Venezuela’s political future.
