Walcott Lands Javelin Gold, Bertrand Completes Sprint Double At NAAA TT's Championships
The weather held up well over the weekend for the NAAA TT’s Junior and Senior Championships at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
There were no major surprises as the usual suspects claimed their titles on Sunday’s third and final day. Keshorn Walcott grabbed javelin gold with an 81.43-metre effort. Leah Bertrand completed the sprint double, adding the 200m title and edging the 400m champion, Tajha Badal, into second place. Reese Webster was third. In the men’s equivalent, Aaron Charles took the 200 metres title. And Tyra Gittens-Spotsville’s 6.65m leap was good enough to secure the long jump title.
