Song said celebrating the festival together shows the love for home and the longing for family reunion of the Chinese people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits. He said the mainland will stick to the one-China principle and actively promote communication and cooperation that benefit Taiwan compatriots. Andrew Hsia, vice chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang (KMT) party, said the two sides of the Taiwan Straits have much in common, should appreciate each other, cherish the opportunities for peaceful development, build consensus and form a vision for the future together.
