‘Not an election turner’: Interest rate cut won’t come in time to help the Albanese government

Former Howard government minister Peter McGauran believes an interest rate cut won’t come in time to help the Albanese government. The Reserve Bank of Australia has left the official cash rate on hold at 4.35 per cent. “You won’t get an interest rate cut in February,” Mr McGauran told Sky News Australia. “Could be March, April – probably comes too late to help the Albanese government.”
