Day one of the National Schools Calypso and Soca Competition saw students using music to speak out on issues affecting them, with performances touching on bullying and the importance of adults listening to young voices.
The opening stage set the tone for the event, as children used song to express personal experiences and concerns while the competition now moves on to the next round.
