PM Holness Touts One Road Authority As Solution To Managing Road Networks | TVJ News
Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness says consultations are continuing on the introduction of a single road authority aimed at improving the management of Jamaica’s road network.
He noted that the National Works Agency is responsible for nearly 800 main roads, many of which are not being adequately maintained. He added that even those receiving maintenance are not always being maintained to the required standard.
Dr. Holness says that as the government embarks on the $25 billion SPARK Main Road Programme, establishing a single authority to streamline the country’s road data could save both time and money.
