TIC 2026 Highlights Opportunities For Trinidad & Tobago's Private Sector
The 2026 Trade and Investment Convention (TIC) came to an end on Saturday after bringing together manufacturers, exporters, investors and buyers from across the Caribbean and beyond. Now that the booths have come down and the business meetings have ended, attention is turning to what TIC 2026 could mean for Trinidad and Tobago’s economic diversification and regional competitiveness.
For Trinidad and Tobago’s private sector, TIC is a marketplace for opportunity, with the three-day event now a staple on the business calendar.
As the country continues to push for growth beyond the traditional energy sector, TIC continues to link local manufacturers and service providers with regional and international buyers.
Participants say it has proven invaluable to Trinidad and Tobago’s business landscape.
« After the last TIC show we had and ROI and even clients we connected with at the last event put ppl on to us so it did impact the business and the way we move forward. »
Business leaders say the event can support innovation, foreign exchange earnings, and position **Trinidad and Tobago-**made products more aggressively in the region.
The management at popular juice brand Fresh Start said they returned to TIC as part of their diversification and expansion plans.
« We have diversified into cocktail mixers and here again seeking intl mkt as we expand into CARICOM. bardies can be used in hotel rest and bar and potential for it to bring forex into tt and good example of innovation that exists in tt and products that can be globally accepted. »
This first-time participant urged business owners to recognise the importance of the event and the crucial role it can play in growing their business.
« It help me to undertsand proper networking and met ppl who can pivot me to a different level with distirbution, mkting etc. so it has been overwheleming. i want to encourage ppl next year if you get the oportuniuty take a chance on your self and you meet all sorts of ppl who can help and assist and provide advice. »
