CASTRIES VENDORS BEGIN RECEIVING COMPENSATION AFTER ARCADE DISPLACEMENT
Nearly one hundred vendors displaced by the reconstruction of the Castries Vendors Arcade have begun receiving compensation as part of the redevelopment of the Castries Port by Global Ports Holding. More than $430,000 is being distributed to help offset months of lost income. Government officials say the payments were structured to provide financial relief while taking vendors’ rental obligations into account, while GPH has pledged continued support and new opportunities for affected businesses.
